Abstract

MEJIA CRUZ, María Lizeth. Comparative analysis of difficulties of physics students at UNAH with understanding atomic emission spectra. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.6, pp. 340-349.  Epub Dec 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

In the teaching-learning process of physics many factors influence the achievement of an adequate understanding of the concepts addressed by the teacher in the classroom, in the topics related to atomic emission spectra this fact becomes clear That studies carried out in the field of educational physics have found that there is no adequate assimilation of the concepts of matter and light. Several of the subjects of the physics curriculum have to do with topics related to atomic emission spectroscopy, among which we can mention quantum mechanics, which had its origins in the attempt to explain the spectral lines observed; Electromagnetism and astronomy among others. To improve instruction in university courses related to topics of spectroscopy is necessary to evaluate the learning processes of students, through the application of a test with the aim of identifying strengths and weaknesses. In order to respond to the difficulties encountered by students in understanding atomic emission spectra, it is necessary to innovate in the teaching and learning processes.

Keywords : spectroscopy; spectra; atomic emission; learning; difficulties; comprehension; teaching; physics.
