Abstract

GARCIA MOREIRO, Reinol Delfín et al. Selection of managers to improve the organizational climate in the Cuban medical mission in Venezuela. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.6, pp. 505-511.  Epub Dec 30, 2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

The training of managers is a necessity due to the relationship between leadership and organizational climate. The objective of the study was to describe the results of the use of the tool "timeline for the selection and transition of managers" in the Cuban Medical Mission in Venezuela. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out between January 2020 and May 2021. A total of 770 cadres or reserves participated, selected by non-probabilistic sampling. The tool classified the participants into groups, A, B, C and D, according to management experience and established the time and preparation to occupy positions. Fifty-eight percent were included in category D, with no management experience; 16.6% of those in categories A and B held state positions; 100% of state chiefs and 46.1% of Planning and Cadre advisors were in category A, 64% of state vice-chiefs in category B and 54.8% of those in categories C and D, heads of Health Centers. The tool made it possible to select the cadres by means of objective indicators adjusted to the Mission.
