Based on the assumptions that science to do depends on the characteristics of each time and social system in which it develops, and on the performance of the different actors that make it up, in this article we intend to make some reflections on the following questions: What characterizes science in Cuba today?; What vision of science should we aspire to have by 2030?; How is the performance of the main Academies of Sciences of the World today?; What characterizes the Cuban Academy of Sciences today? and, what should we aspire to from the recent creation of Affiliates of the Cuban Academy of Sciences? These questions are tried to answer from the visuals of the Cienfuegos Affiliates of the Cuban Academy of Sciences taken as a case study.
