MARTINEZ DOMINGUEZ, Maytee; GONZALEZ PEREZ, Maricela; GARCIA RODRIGUEZ, Isabel and CASTILLO ALMEIDA, Grisel. The intellectual property management in the projects of science, technology and innovation. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2023, vol.15, n.1 Epub Feb 27, 2023. ISSN 2218-3620.
The need for this research is generated due to the contradiction that is perceived between the number of Science, Technology and Innovation projects that are carried out by research centers, universities and undertakings in the province and the low generation of products that can be protected by any of the forms of Intellectual Property. Given this situation, the authors propose to develop a procedure to incorporate the management of Intellectual Property in the process of managing Science, Technology and Innovation projects. The diagnosis carried out made it possible to demonstrate that neither from the theory of Intellectual Property management, nor from the theory of the management of Science, Technology and Innovation projects, integrated methodological proposals have been developed to include in the management of each of the stages of the life cycle of these Intellectual Property from the initial conception of the research idea, which together with other causes explains the low number of patents requested and granted. The main results are the elaboration of a procedure that will allow project teams to manage the different activities inherent to Intellectual Property throughout their life cycle.
