SMEs play an important role because they are job generators and a complement to the work of big companies, this intensifies the need to increase their performance. At the same time, the world is going through a stage of digital transformation with the birth of new technological enterprises, called Fintech. These introduce disruptive and more efficient business models that take advantage of new technologies to offer products and services that allow companies to get new customers. This article reviews the results of the survey to SMEs, to analyze the contribution of Fintech to the development of SMEs in Guayaquil - Ecuador under a quantitative approach, non-experimental design applied transversally and descriptive scope. The unit of analysis is of 13.543 SMEs of Guayaquil and the sample according to the proportional stratified sampling for this research is 374 SMEs. Among the main results, it was found that more than 80% of the SMEs of Guayaquil indicate that their main challenges for 2022 are increasing revenues and improving costs, that 75% of these companies have used some Fintech service and consider that Fintech have a positive impact on their business environment, and also, SMEs see Fintech as a strategic ally for their development.
