During the last decades, environmental education has been promoted in educational institutions, since it plays an important role, at the level of the educational system or at the level of society in general, in the formation of environmentally responsible citizenship and a sustainable society. In this sense, the objective of this research was to analyze the influence of environmental education on the environmental practices of students in the seventh cycle of regular basic education in Puerto Maldonado, Peru. The type of research was basic, the design was non-experimental, it was approached from a quantitative approach and had an explanatory scope. We worked with a sample of 354 students, who responded to the Environmental Education Questionnaire and the Environmental Practices Questionnaire, instruments with adequate metric properties. The results indicate that the Nagelkerke coefficient was 0.666 and the p-value was lower than the significance level (p<0.05); which indicates that the variability of environmental practices depends on 66.6% of environmental education. It was concluded that environmental education significantly influences the environmental practices of students in the seventh cycle of regular basic education in Puerto Maldonado, Peru. Therefore, it is necessary that environmental education be strengthened in educational institutions through the environmental approach that must be efficiently developed as a transversal approach, as stipulated the national curriculum.
