This article addresses Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its integration into professional pedagogical training as a primary need that manifests itself in the teachers in charge of the training of teachers of primary education of the upper secondary level that form part of the education system in Cuba. The objective is to assess the pedagogical professional training of the primary teacher of upper secondary level in relation to the preparation for the use of ICT linked to the performance of the methodological teaching function. Exploratory-descriptive research with a mixed approach was carried out in 2021. The 45 teachers from the “Rubén Bravo Álvarez” Pedagogical School of the Bayamo municipality of the Granma province, Cuba participated. The survey, with a semi-structured questionnaire, was used as a data collection instrument. The results revealed insufficient use of ICT in professional pedagogical training, relatively medium percentages in teaching-learning, positive and negative attitudes towards teacher technologies, which influences the performance of the methodological teaching function.
