Abstract

CONCEPCION CRUZ, Evelio et al. PROBLEMAS ASOCIADOS AL RENDIMIENTO AGRÍCOLA DE LA CAÑA DE AZÚCAR EN LA COOPERATIVA POTRERILLO, PROVINCIA SANCTI SPÍRITUS: PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED TO THE AGRICULTURAL YIELD OF SUGARCANE IN THE POTRERILLO COOPERATIVE, PROVINCE OF SANCTI SPíRITUS. cen. az. [online]. 2015, vol.42, n.2, pp. 83-92. ISSN 2223-4861.

The low yields in many sugarcane areas have characterized the Cuban sugar industry in the last years. The following work was developed between 2013 and 2014 in the UBPC Potrerillo, located in the center of the province of Sancti Spíritus, tributary of the UEB "Melanio Hernández" in Tuinucú, belonging to the Sugar Enterprise of Sancti Spíritus. Its main objective was to define the most critical problems associated to the agricultural yield of this crop and the immediate actions to be carried out for its solutions, as well as the prediction for its recovery. To this purpose a participative diagnosis was performed with the presence of all the cooperative partners detecting 15 fundamental problems that affected the yield of the crop directly. With these problems a group of experts of the UBPC made the Vester matrix that led to determine and classify them as critical problems, actives, passives and independents. Throughout a regression equation it could be predicted the agricultural yield recovery of the Cooperative, sustainable starting from 2017.

Keywords : sugarcane; agricultural yield; diagnosis; prediction.
