Abstract

GONZALEZ DAVILA, Bárbara et al. FORMULATIONS FROM IMAZETAPIR HERBICIDE IN A SOLUBLE CONCENTRATE FORM AT 10 % OBTAINING. cen. az. [online]. 2020, vol.47, n.4, pp. 69-77.  Epub Oct 01, 2020. ISSN 2223-4861.

Introduction:

Pesticides are one of the chemical products used by farmers during production process. Weeds effects on crop production are ancestrally recognized, which can influence many decisions in agricultural sector, either directly or indirectly. If these effects are not correctly controlled, the word food can be reduced between 20 to 40 %. Herbicides are an important pesticides group; in which Imazetapir can be found. This herbicide is specifically used as an active ingredient in selective herbicides, since it is capable of controlling different types of weeds.

Objective:

The aim of his work is to obtain stable formulations of the herbicide Imazetapir, formulated as a 10 % soluble concentrate for its registration and subsequent production by the national industry (Juan Luis Rodríguez Company).

Materials and Methods:

Five formulations of Imazetapir were obtained. From these formulations the physical-chemical parameters (density, pH and active ingredient content) were determined at zero time, at the conclusion of the Accelerated Storage Test for 14 days, as well as at three, six and twelve months of storage at room temperature on shelf.

Results and discussion:

The quantification of the active ingredient for formulations 3 and 4 exhibited values below the allowable ones, while no significant differences were shown in formulations 1, 2 and 5 during the time of study.

Conclusions:

Three stable formulas of the herbicide Imazetapir formulated as a soluble concentrate at 10 % were obtained, which could be candidates to register for production and commercialization by the national industry (Juan Luis Rodríguez Company).
