Abstract
REYES ARBOLAEZ, Armando and MEJIAS HERRERA, Sandra H.. ERGONOMICS EVALUATION IN PARTS PRODUCTION STATIONS FOR THE SUGAR INDUSTRY: CONSIDERATIONS FROM A CASE STUDY. cen. az. [online]. 2022, vol.49, n.4, pp. 58-68. Epub Oct 01, 2022. ISSN 2223-4861.
Introduction:
The Ergonomics/Human Factors discipline is demanded by employers who realize its usefulness, not only to improve the health of employees; but because it is a useful tool to achieve higher levels of production, quality and competitiveness which are much needed today.
Objective:
Evaluate from an ergonomic point of view one of the positions where the production of hydraulic and hydraulic brake hoses requested by the sugar companies is developed, establishing the aspects that directly influence the productive results.
Materials and Methods:
To diagnose the situation, a procedure validated in other situations, which brings together a set of phases and stages associated with techniques that make it possible to report inadequate levels of design in the workplace, was used for ergonomics analysis.
Results and Discussion:
The main results showed that factors related to ergonomics variables affect the design and organization of the analyzed position and determine the productive levels obtained. In addition, it was possible to identify the effects that the position produces on the operator.
Conclusions:
The implementation of the ergonomics program designed, personalized to the existing needs, can contribute to improving the productive levels, the quality of working life and the health of the worker.
