Abstract

This paper was focused on the study of the 5,m nylons (m = 5; 7; 9), due to their potential application as materials with active electrical properties. The investigation has been developed in the characterization and synthesis areas , centering our objective on the analysis of the properties of these polymers for their foreseeable implementation in the electronic sector. As a result, the reason that these polyamides are procesable by fusion should be taken into account; they possess high thermal stability and can be obtained with high crystallinity by slow cooling of the melt . The films of 5,7 and 5,9 nylons are operable and possess acceptable mechanical characteristics, absorbing up 1,4 % of water when exposed to an environment regulated to 23 ºC and 55 % of relative humidity.
