Abstract

MULET-HING, Mónica; GIRALT-SANCHEZ, Angela; PINO-RECIO, Rafael  and  BRUGAL-MELENDEZ, Adrian. Control system for the process of obtaining '' in situ '' of sodium hypochlorite. RTQ [online]. 2021, vol.41, n.1, pp. 212-231.  Epub Mar 28, 2021. ISSN 2224-6185.

In the present work, the design of a control system for the process of obtaining sodium hypochlorite that takes place in an electrolytic cell. The variables that are controlled in the process are the temperature and the amount of total current applied to the electrodes of the cell. A study of the main characteristics of the MSP430 microcontrollers is carried out, showing their main modules, advantages and disadvantages. The electrolytic cell is described and theoretical foundations related to the electrochemistry of the process are also provided. Finally, the design of the proposed system is exposed, as well as the elements used in its implementation.

Keywords : MSP430 microcontrollers; process control; sodium hypochlorite.
