Abstract

ABSTRACT

In the present work, the compression system of combine 2 of the “Hermanos Díaz” Refinery was evaluated using the Aspen Hysys V 8.8 Process Simulator. Three (3) variants of technological modification of the current Compression System were simulated with the aim of reducing power consumption and increasing the flow of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at the top of the Stabilizing Tower T-104. It was determined as a technological modification to implement the Compression System in three stages with intercooling up to 850 kPa. With this system, energy savings of 6,15% were achieved and energy consumption decreased in kW / h by 4%. The LPG flow through the top of the T-104 was increased by 76,71% and the LPG yield in the Crude Blend 30 by 2,4%. The quality indices of the LPG obtained were improved, being within the parameters regulated for its commercialization.
