Abstract

The purpose of this article is to socialize a concrete tool on knowledge management that contributes to municipalities' local development. Descriptive, statistical and participative methods were used in this research, supported by local authorities and the involvement of knowledge actors such as the University (represented by the Municipal University Branch in the municipality) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment. Its most significant contribution is the development of capacities for knowledge management development in the municipality's authorities. It also includes a system of indicators to monitor its application. The research makes evident the need for an integration of local actors by means of the use of a local development strategy. The program of knowledge management for local development functions as tactical moment of the local development strategy in the municipality of Florencia, Cuba.
