Abstract

Aim:

To explain the significance of engaging public policies and related legal political processes for government performance, and to identify the main advances and shortcomings of the Cuban constitutional legislation context.

Methods:

Analysis-synthesis, for an overall theoretical study of the main categories used. The exegetical method was applied for proper interpretation of the legal norms studied, and to determine their rationale and scope.

Main results:

This study provided an explanation of the significance of participatory public policies and the necessary legal political processes for local government performance, and identified the main advances and shortcomings of the Cuban constitutional legislation context.

Conclusions:

The significance of participatory public policies and the necessary legal political processes for local government performance was explained, along with the identification of the main advances and shortcomings of the Cuban constitutional legislation context.
