A diagnostic test was applied based on SAILS for life sciences. The rate of difficulty and the characteristic curve were estimated to identify difficulties related to informational competencies. The population mean was used to identify alert and critical state subcompetencies. An analysis was made of the status of each and of the differences between titulations. A description was provided of the training actions performed and the students' opinions about the experience. It was found that there are difficulties related to informational competencies and that training actions are required.
