Abstract

LUZBET GOMEZ, Félix R.; LAURENCIO LEYVA, Amauris  and  GARCIA HERNANDEZ, Adelín. Postgraduate Education and its Main Projections in Cuban Higher Education. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2020, vol.8, n.2  Epub Aug 10, 2020. ISSN 2308-0132.

This article deals with postgraduate education since its emergence in the Middle Ages and its rapid worldwide spread from the five predominant postgraduate systems of the 19th century. It presents a historical and social vision of this extremely important scientific and educational activity, in which there is a close overlap between the contents addressed in the research and the problems or contradictions existing in the different regions, from the broadest point of view. Similarly, its main characteristics in the country and its classifications are outlined in the light of the transformations that were implemented with the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and as a result of the imprint of the Regulations of Postgraduate Education of the Republic of Cuba.

Keywords : learning; standing education; postgraduate and doctoral education; professional development; information and communication technologies.
