Abstract

VELIZ LOPEZ, Irana. Economic Growth Trends in Central America between Century xx and xxi. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2021, vol.9, n.2  Epub July 01, 2021. ISSN 2308-0132.

During 2015-2019 Central America reached an average Gross Domestic Product of 3,6 %, higher than of Latin America. This economic growth shows particularizes more than one hundred years of a positive macroeconomic performance that is not inconsiderable while at the same time placing the implication of geopolitics in it. The present article characterizes the growth trends in the sub region through means variables such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Direct Foreign Investment an integral focus of political economy, showing its dependence toward the U.S like pivot of growth while it grows the social inequality, violence and migration.
