Abstract
RODRIGUEZ LIMACHI, Omar Moisés; TICONA CARRIZALES, Lucio; FERRO GONZALES, Polan Franbalt and INQUILLA MAMANI, Juan. Quantification of Social Benefits in an Investment Project in the Education Sector under the INVIERTE.PE Approach. A Peruvian Case. Estudios del Desarrollo Social [online]. 2021, vol.9, n.3 Epub Dec 01, 2021. ISSN 2308-0132.
The purpose of this study is to quantify the social benefits of investment projects in the education sector in Peru, within the framework of the National System for Multiannual Programming and Investment Management (INVIERTE.PE). Along these lines, a methodology is proposed to estimate the quantitative benefits instead of the qualitative benefits of educational social projects. The present value method of future labor income (VAI) was used, which is based on the theory of human capital and the rate of return for education, in addition, a viable and approved public investment project by INVIERTE.PE of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru (MEF). The results show that the educational project has a net present value of total benefits, for an evaluation horizon of 10 years, updated at a social discount rate of 8% of S/ 20,332,881.91 at market prices, and of S/ 16'266,305.53 at social prices. Finally, it can be concluded, based on the results, that it is possible to incorporate the quantifiable estimate of social benefits in the formulation and preparation of investment projects in the education sector in Peru.
