Abstract

This reflective article seeks to resignify Popular Education in the postmodern era, under a historical-logical approach and bibliographic support, which was nuanced with the author's experience on the subject. The objective was to analyze the concept of Popular Education as an educational practice, based on some references in the matter and as a transforming pedagogical tool of contemporary social reality. This form of educational work has historical roots in the class struggle of beloved figures such as Rodríguez and Bolívar, the starting point of a history in which it has not been easy to eradicate the decolonizing matrix as a way of liberating people from the dominant power of the Oligarchy. Latin American. The research makes it possible to conclude that Popular Education is a relevant pedagogical and philosophical strategy for human emancipation through knowledge, which must be adapted to the new current historical-social contexts.
