Abstract
CABRERA GONZALEZ, Ada Caridad and BARREIRO PEREZ, Laura María. The sociocultural competence in the teaching- learning process of Spanish language for Non-Spanish speaking students. RP [online]. 2021, vol.9, n.3, pp. 434-446. Epub Feb 22, 2022. ISSN 2308-3042.
The teaching-learning process in Spanish language for Non-Spanish speaking students, who have passed the preparatory course and continue their university studies, particularly, in technical science careers is developed in a multicultural setting. These students are from different countries and they show different ways of thinking, knowing and understanding the world. Therefore, it is necessary to find ways for supporting not only their Spanish language learning but also their sociocultural development. This article is aimed at sharing an experience on the use of interactive tasks to develop the sociocultural competence of Non- Spanish speaking students at Cujae. This experience contributed to the students’ knowledge construction as well as to the development of values as the respect to their cultural identity and the solidarity among them. The interactive tasks, which were proposed, gave opportunities for learning the Spanish language through the social interaction and knowing about the Cuban culture and that of other countries.
