Abstract

TRELLES RODRIGUEZ, Irene; BADIA VALDES, Ana Teresa; MENENDEZ VILLACRECES, Mónica  and  DONOSO, Fabio. Theoretical and practical principles of communication management in disaster risk prevention of natural origin. ARCIC [online]. 2019, vol.8, n.21, pp. 53-68.  Epub Dec 01, 2019. ISSN 2411-9970.

This research is based on a theoretical systematization of the management of disaster risk communication of natural origin and bases practical proposals that weigh the need for strategy design, dialogue among the population, agencies responsible for managing risk, health teams, the scientific community, and the media. This articulation generates a culture of prevention anchored in values of the scientific culture about risks and an adequate management of the communication of science and technology. The study applies the method of relational phenomenology and hermeneutically addresses the study of meanings in its relations with the products of the social system. The investigative techniques of bibliographic and documentary analysis and the focus group are used.

Keywords : risk of disaster communication; scientific culture; citizen participation; risk prevention; technologies.
