Abstract

The objective of this research is the design of a communication strategy to increase the perception of risk front natural disasters in the municipality of Tambogrande- Piura, Peru. The study is inserted in the emerging field of Education / Communication and is based on the methodology of educational communication. In order to carry out the diagnosis, the evaluations of the Civil Defense workers, leaders and the population of the district were taken into account. In this way, it was possible to know the current state of risk communication. These techniques (observation, questionnaire and interview) help to describe and interpret how communication affects the community under study to deal with the most frequent natural threats.

To conclude, the study it is proposed the design of an educational communication strategy to raise the perception of risks to natural disasters in the municipality of Tambogrande - Piura-Peru.
