Abstract

This work aims to analyze the discipline called Archivology and Information Science (CI) in the context of a public university in Brazil, in which we study the breaking of paradigms of these sciences from the advent of new technologies, the world in networks, the role social archives and archivists in the contemporary world; in order to contribute as information resources, access to information, the construction of citizenship and accountability of the state. As for the theoretical-methodological aspect, the Critical Theory of information and Communication and its epistemological aspects, Marxism, information as capital. In the empirical aspect, the survey of academic production aimed at studying these subjects in Archivology. As a result, we intend to present academic production in the country, the perspective of information as capital, the studies of information resources stored, treated and made available by public archives for the construction and development of citizenship and democracy.
