Abstract

The article addresses the role of records management in the processes of accountability and transparency in administrations. In this sense, expose the need for a Cuban transparency regulation that allows implementing many of the foundations of its emerging economic and social model. Consequently, the relationship between the modernization processes of public administration and the enactment of transparency and access to information laws is analyzed. Likewise, the concepts of accountability and transparency are systematized and the principles of transparency laws are exposed. Finally, the relationship between records management and transparency laws is addressed with emphasis on the role of the former in the trustworthiness of information.
