Abstract

The research was part of the “Enredes” project that belongs to the Faculty of Communication of the University of Havana. Its objective was to establish the informational requirements for proper government management in the Plaza de la Revolución municipality. For this, theoretical-conceptual aspects of Information Management, local development, public administration and governance were examined. The components of Information Management were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative methods, and methodological tools: semi-standardized and non-standardized survey, questionnaire, and participant observation. The main results allowed identifying failures and deficiencies in the implementation and control of the components of Information Management and allowed. Concluding with the existing relationship between Information Management and local development.
