The research aims to expose knowledge auditing for local governments. A theoretical-conceptual approach is made to the audit of knowledge and local governments. The relationship between knowledge auditing and Knowledge Management is exposed. An analysis of the methodologies used in knowledge audits is carried out. A specific knowledge audit model for local governments is exposed, its components, benefits and advantages. The importance of knowledge auditing for local governments is exposed.
