Abstract
FERNANDEZ FERRERAS, Alicia; FADRAGA GONZALEZ, Daniel and LLORENTE FERNANDEZ, Martha Rosa. Conceptual Map of Communication in the industrial design products. ARCIC [online]. 2021, vol.10, n.27, pp. 3-21. Epub Dec 01, 2021. ISSN 2411-9970.
The maxim "products communicate" is practically a principle in design education. For Industrial Design, this approach is based on knowledge from different disciplines and theories, which are perceived as disconnected. With the aim to integrate this knowledge into an articulated system that constitutes a didactic tool for the design process and its teaching, the Conceptual Map of Communication in Industrial Design Products (MCCPDI) has been created. Several authors have studied the communication in products. However, the phenomenon has been approached as a property of the already finished and available products in the market. Hence the novelty of approaching the problem to the project process from a useful, concrete and coherent tool with the teaching of design in Cuba. The proposed MCCPDI also constitutes the intercurricular link between the subject-matters of the Main Integrative Discipline and two of the subjects of the Study Plan of the Industrial Design Career: Semiotics and Ergonomics I.
