Abstract

This article theoretically addresses the way in which the media produce the news for building reality. This process contains a strong component of media references, which allude to those events that are outside the personal experience of human beings and of which they have knowledge through the media. The social construction of reality made by the media is the product of a constant negotiation between the interests of different actors involved in the process of producing the news, call information sources, external factors, public and the media themselves. The objective of the article is to determine the relationship established between the categories of truth, objectivity and subjectivity as inherent in the process of media construction.
