Abstract

GUTIERREZ LOPEZ, Orlando  and  ZALDIVAR SOSA, Elizabeth. Mirta Muñiz Egea debates in an interview about her profession. ARCIC [online]. 2021, vol.10, n.27, pp. 201-208.  Epub Dec 01, 2021. ISSN 2411-9970.

On October 17, 2017, the Cuban professor and publicist Mirta Muñiz Egea passed away, leaving the way open to keep her profession up for debate. This interview was conducted months before his death, and perhaps includes the last statements on details of his life, marked by historical moments in the Cuban political context that affected his professional performance. Muñiz Egea had an outstanding career in the Cuban media as an actress, writer, publicist, editor, researcher and teacher. She promoted successful advertising campaigns and thanks to her creativity she earned the respect of designers and communicators from Cuba and abroad. In this interview that Alcance reproduces today, Muñiz Egea overflows with intelligent answers, offers historical touches, direct of subliminal messages that invite you to think, provoking debate about the importance of her profession and positioning herself as a benchmark for young people who “have allowed her to receive that invaluable gift of thought and restlessness of youth”, the one that, in her words, kept her young.

Keywords : communicator; advertising; propaganda.
