Abstract

Introduction:

COVID-19 is an infectious disease that represents a threatening epidemiological phenomenon that caused a great pandemic in a short time and can leave many consequences in those who suffer from it.

Information of the patiente:

we present the case of a 17-year-old Cuban adolescent, reported with a psychotic functioning level after COVID-19 infection, admitted to the Mental Health service of the “José Luis Miranda” University Pediatric Hospital.

Conclusions:

what is interesting is that the case of the first Cuban patient diagnosed with a psychotic disorder due to another medical condition after COVID-19 infection is presented, making clear the importance of early diagnosis of the neuropsychiatric sequelae of this disease and multidisciplinary treatment appropriate for the comprehensive management of these patients.
