Abstract

VALDES ALVAREZ, Orlando. Conservative treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 1997, vol.23, n.2, pp. 86-90. ISSN 1561-3062.

A prospective and analytical study of the evolution of 34 patients presenting with cervical intraepithelial neoplasm was carried out. Patients underwent a multiple excisional biopsy followed by electrocoagulation of the bleeding bed as single treatment for this condition. Causal factors present in such patients were assessed such as the presence of papiloma virus, the age of sexual relations onset, parity, and contraceptive methods used by the patient. A coincidence was observed regarding the criteria established in relation to the influence of papiloma virus, an early onset of sexual intercourse and the use of contraceptive devices, particularly in younger women. The therapeutic procedure applied to the women studied was assessed as a good method.
