Abstract

ORTIZ LEE, Carlos  and  DE MARCOS LOPEZ, Nayra. Post cesarean vaginal delivery: First cases in Cuba. Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 1998, vol.24, n.3, pp. 117-121. ISSN 1561-3062.

The increase in the cesarean section has stimulated the searching of alternatives in an attempt to reduce its frequency, among them, the postcesarean vaginal delivery. For the first time, in Cuba, we are working on this debatable subject, and since 1995, there is in the Gynecobstetric Hospital "Clodomira Acosta", an specialized Cesarean Consultation, where cases with a history of cesarean section, having the necessary conditions to try the transpelvic delivery, are selected. This paper shows the first findings from this consultation, including the satisfaction of the first postcesarean vaginal delivery made in a programmed way in our country, as well as an analysis of those aspects that prevented a higher number of cases in this first stage of work.

Keywords : VAGINAL BIRTH AFTER CESAREAN; PATIENT SELECTION.
