Abstract

NAPOLES MENDEZ, Danilo; GARCIA GODERICH, Ana Gloria  and  SIMONO BELL, Mireya. Results of Wertheim-Meigs’ operation: Analysis of some variables. Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 1999, vol.25, n.1, pp. 10-13. ISSN 1561-3062.

A cross-sectional and retrospective study of 140 patients with stage I uterine cervix cancer that were operated on by the Wertheim-Meigs’ techniques at the North and South Gynecoobstetric Hospitals of Santiago de Cuba, from 1982 to 1996, was conducted, It was demonstrated that the practical application of this procedure is still proper and updated, since it was found an important correlation between certain biological and clinical variables that showed a survival of 92.9 % in 5 years or more with a few complications during or after the operation and with no urinary fistulas.

Keywords : CERVIX NEOPLASMS [cirugía]; HYSTERECTOMY [methods].
