Abstract

HERNANDEZ CABRERA, Jesús et al. Therapeutics of gravidic hypertension: Influence on prenatal morbimortality. Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 1999, vol.25, n.1, pp. 51-54. ISSN 1561-3062.

A prospective and descriptive study was carried out at the "Julio Alfonso Medina" Gynecoobstetric Teaching Hospital of Matanzas during 1986-1993 among patients who gave birth in our center and that were considered as hypertensive according to the criteria of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The casuistics was composed of 1 092 patients for a total of 1 127 deliveries (33 twin births, 1 triplets). They were divided into the 4 types of hypertension in accordance with the classification used. 536 were included in the type I for 49.1 % of the casuistics; 306 in the chronic II for 28.0 %; 132 in the chronic III for 12.1 % and 132 in the type IV for 10.8 %. The parametric Chi square test was used, and it was proved that the therapeutics in hypertensive patients does not exclude morbimortality from the product of conception.
