Abstract
CASTANEDA ABASCAL, Ileana and MOLINA ESTEVEZ, Mirian. Biosocial factors influencing on the apperance of induced abortion. Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 1999, vol.25, n.1, pp. 55-60. ISSN 1561-3062.
Abortion has been used as a family planning method for a very long time, and it is known that it depends on some factors, such as: age, educational level, obstetric hystory, relations with her partner, and the use and knowledge of contraceptive methods, among others. The risk factors that turned the studied pregnancy into an induced abortion at the province of Matanzas, from January to March, 1994, were identified. Variables were selected and with the help of logistic regression results were reached. The risk factors were the following: time the couple stayed together, use of contraceptive methods, when she got pregnant, and age at first gestation. Through the estimation of the relative risk it was possible to measure the degree of association of every risk factor with the way pregnancy concludes.
