Abstract

GUERRA FOURNIER, Carmen. Comparison of the endocervical canal cytobrush to the histological study of patients treated with conization. Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 1999, vol.25, n.2, pp. 124-127. ISSN 1561-3062.

To establish a cytohistological correlation, 137 patients cared for in the Cervix Uteri Pathology medical office were surveyed for a year to study their endocervical canal by cytobrush method and evantually, they were applied a surgical treatment based on cervix uteri- conization. The most striking result was to find out a correlation of 81 % among cases, which proved that the use of this method makes it possible to detect more accurately a lesion in the endocervical canal that may justify any subsequent medical action.

Keywords : CONIZATION [methods]; VAGINAL SMEARS [methods]; CERVIX UTERI [pathology].
