Abstract

PINO GARCIA, Teresa  and  SABINA YTURRALDE, Algimiro. Evaluation of gentamicin prescription in pregnant women admitted with urinary tract infection. Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 2005, vol.31, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3062.

A cross-sectional,descriptive and retrospective study was conducted, in which the medical histories of the pregnant women that were admitted in "Eusebio Hernández" Hospital and treated with gentamicin from January 1st to December 31st, 2003, were reviewed aimed at evaluating if the prescription was correct., taking into consideration whether for this type of urinary tract infection (UTI) a previous urine culture had been made, whether 3-5 mg x kg x day had been the dose used, whether creatinin had been indicated and days of treatment.
