It was concluded that climateric syndrome manifestations were more frequently found in perimenopausal women with predominance of heat surge, anxiety, depression as well as disorders in libido. With respect to social repercussion, the main problems were labor problems due to absenteeism and late arrivals to workplace whereas those of family origin related to the different roles that women must play, which create difficulties for their personal, family and social performance
