Abstract

Introduction: it is defined as cervical ectopic pregnant (CEP) the implantation of the ovum fertilized at level of the internal cervical orifice (ICO) or underneath it. Objectives: to present a case of cervical ectopic pregnancy and its treatment strategy with the use of methotrexate. Methods: a case of cervical ectopic pregnancy is described in a patient aged 30, nullipara with a 7 weeks pregnancy diagnosed in the Emergency Service of the "Ramón González Coro" Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital by transvaginal echography. Results: treatment began with parenteral and local methotrexate and then Misoprostol by vaginal route was added as treatment adjuvant for a subsequent dilation and curettage of cervical channel. Conclusion: The patient had a favorable evolution without another type of intervention.
