Abstract

We carried out a controlled, parallel, and double blind clinical trial, to assess usefulness of capsules containing powder from Musa paradisiaca in interseizures treatment of bronchial asthma. Sixty seix adult asthmatic patients (Grade I, II, and III) over 12-20 weeks, given dose ranging between 19 mg/kg and 47 mg/kg of drug or a placebo. Clinical course of patients as well as side effects were studied. There weren´t significant differences in study variables among patients and controls. We conclude that powder of Musa paradisiaca hadn´t therapeutic usefulness in present study.
