GONZALEZ BRAVO, Maritza; HERRERA BATISTA, Aleida; CORO ANTICH, Rosa María and PULDON SEGUI, Giselle. Alteraciones morfométricas de los hepatocitos de ratas albinas que ingieren alcohol desde la adolescencia. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 2003, vol.22, n.2, pp. 117-122. ISSN 1561-3011.
The liver was studied, and the following variables were measured: nucleus area, cytoplasm area, and nucleus cytoplasm relation of the hepatocytes of the periportal, intermediate and perivenous zone. 40 rats of both sexes were used to have 2 groups: alcoholics and controls. The alcoholic between 28 and 90 days old were administered ethanol 40 % diluted in water by oral route by an intraesophageal cannula. The morphometric variables such as nucleus area and the relation nucleus cytoplasm proved to be statistically different and higher among alcoholic rats.
