Abstract

GARCIA LOPEZ, Elena et al. Knowledge of the Cuban doctors and population about the clinical assays. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 2006, vol.25, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3011.

Two surveys were done and validated aimed at determining the perception and knowledge of the doctors and the public on clinical assays. Doctors were surveyed at hospital institutions up to a total of 267 specialists. A sample of 405 randomly selected persons was surveyed. Some doctors and the public in general have difficulties to explain what a clinical assay is. In Cuba, the knowledge about clinical assays has increased; however, there is not a general culture on this type of research yet. All the possibilities offered by the mass media should be used to spread topics related to clinical assays.

Keywords : Clinical assays; perception; knowledge.
