Abstract

SANZ PUPO, Nitza Julia et al. The image digitalization applied to pathological anatomy: Experiences in the province of Holguin, Cuba. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 2006, vol.25, n.4, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3011.

The experience attained at “V.I. Lenin” Hospital, in Holguin, where there is a microscope coupled with a computer in the department of pathological anatomy by using the COMSDI-PLUSEI morphometric system in the antamopathological diagnosis process is exposed. This requires the analysis of the morphology of different organs and/or structures by the assessment with the naked eye or through an image. The quantification of certain structures is a tool that gives additional information on the form and state in which the elements under study are, as well as on their relation to the others around them. It also allows the better understanding of diverse pathological processes showing the relations existing among development-form-structure-function, which are so important for the daily work of the pathologist.

Keywords : Morphometry; anatomopathological diagnosis.
