Abstract

DIAZ VELIS MARTINEZ, Esther  and  RAMOS RAMIREZ, Ramiro. Algunas reflexiones en torno a la atención médica integral a la familia. Educ Med Super [online]. 2002, vol.16, n.2, pp. 78-84. ISSN 0864-2141.

An analysis of those aspects connected with the training of medical sciences professionals is made. Family Medicine is emphasized as a generalized and broad clinical specialty that characterizes the hegemonic medical practice . It is stressed the need that the Basic General Physician and the specialist in General Comprehensive Medicine attend those families located within the operating range of their communities. That is why, the direction of the educative teaching process through which these professionals are trained should be consequent with this end. It is reflected on this acting allowing professors to have a clear vision of where to direct their steps in this process, which includes a conceptualization of what giving comprehensive medical attention to families implies, the problems they will solve and the actions they will take to attain this goal.
