Abstract
LOMBARDO VAILLANT, Tomás Ariel; DE DIOS SOLER MOREJON, Caridad and MIRALLES AGUILERA, Eva de los Ángeles. Some thoughts about the problems of the scientific publications of the health professionals. Educ Med Super [online]. 2013, vol.27, n.1, pp. 135-145. ISSN 0864-2141.
The scientific research is a complex process of searching new pieces of knowledge that are necessary to disseminate through publications, so that the scientific community can know them. Paradoxically, the health professionals do not publish the results of their research studies on a systematic basis for a number of reasons; hence, the authors took the decision of giving some thoughts about this situation. Three categories of different factors were identified. They are linked to authors, lack of motivation, time-consuming and knowledge, the organizational climate (lack of systematization and of control by the managers) and to editing process management. Different alternative solutions were provided. It was concluded that extracurricular strategies should be promptly implemented in the undergraduate education and strengthened in the postgraduate education, in addition to the support of managers to scientific production and dissemination by means of particular policies.
