The objective of this article is to create a plan to reduce the consumption of psychotropic substances in university students. Therefore, a study was carried out with a qualitative approach and a sample of 400 university students was used, using questionnaires to determine the main causes of why students between 18 and 22 years of age of the universities consume psychotropic substances, for which it was observed the existence of effective knowledge about different types of drugs and psychotropic substances. Due to the results of the sample, a proposal for a prevention program against the use and abuse of drugs and psychotropic substances in university students was developed. It is considered that the implementation of the proposed activities can contribute to the reduction of the use of these substances in students.
