The present investigation allowed to determine the learning needs of the rural population of the province of Quito about odontomas, and to design a community training plan based on the results obtained. For this, a review of the literature was carried out to establish the parameters to be evaluated. A random sample of 869 people was selected, to whom a survey specifically designed to determine the aspects of interest for the study was applied. The results obtained allowed us to determine the knowledge needs in the study sample. It was observed that very few percent of the sample had heard of odontomas, as well as the existence of certain errors in terms of their form of manifestation, treatment, causes and incidence in health in general. Small educational talks were held with the participants to provide adequate and pertinent information on the deficiencies detected during the surveys. A community training plan was proposed to improve the knowledge of the population about odontomas and their impact on oral health.
