Resumen

SALAZAR JARAMILLO, Álvaro Andrés; PARDO SAAVEDRA, Diana Carolina; VASQUEZ MESA, Mario Javier  y  FONTHAL RIVERA, Gerardo. Design and implementation of a non-invasive moisture meter prototype for Guadua angustifolia Kunth. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2011, vol.20, n.4, pp. 05-11. ISSN 2071-0054.

Global demand for wood products, sustainable development and globalization of the economy, has generated in recent times alternatives to new markets with giant prospects to industrialize innovative products, which include products made from bamboo, mainly the kind of Guadua angustifolia Kunth, native from Central and South American countries. Guadua angustifolia not only stands out for its excellent physical and mechanical properties apply to construction, but by the diversity of applications that can be an engine for social and economic develop men in many tropical countries. Therefore, what is involved with this work is to improve the quality of various products and derivatives of Guadua through proper humidity control, which determines the quality of the raw material; through a device that can provide a measure of amount of water, without damaging the material measured. As an added value, the device can be attached to different growing conditions without cutting the plant, allowing measurements to verify the empirical knowledge about the Guadua culture, rooted in the population for many years.

Palabras clave : Humidity; electrical capacitance; sensor; guadua; prototype.
