Take into account and enable the training and preparation of professionals in contemporary universities, particularly from the perspective that is committed to maintaining its model of a modern, humanistic, universalized, scientific, technological, innovative university; integrated into society and deeply committed to construction of a prosperous and sustainable socialism, advises to think, to implement actions, with emphasis on reading promotion and its involvement in the education of the community. Therefore, promoting the practice of reading constitutes an educational priority for the formation of a more committed, innovative society that moves towards sustainable development where the House of Higher Studies, from the consideration of the University-School-Society relations and in the Improvement of Education, plays a significant role. The present work responds to a professional and research experience related to reading promotion from undergraduate and postgraduate training, specifically with primary school teachers. The results of the applied diagnosis corroborated insufficiencies in relation to the reading incentive, and allowed to delineate the conception that about the work with reading should be assumed from undergraduate and postgraduate continuing education. The presentation of experiences and proposals to take care of it, constitutes the most revealing contribution of the current paper.
